Public Education is the hallmark of the Hillsborough County Florida Dog Fanciers, and with the help of the American Kennel Club we are working to make people everywhere more responsible and knowledgeable about dogs. Through our Safety Around Dogs programs in the schools, our community, and even at the Florida State Fair, we are able to reach people of all ages with our message. Our Responsible Dog Ownership Day 2009 was a combined event where over 1000 dogs and cats received free shots at a clinic sponsored by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and Hilsborough County Animal Services. The HCFDF also regularly sponsors Fun Matches too, giving the public an opportunity to meet us and learn about the sport of purebred dogs.
